My first real apartment on my own in the “Big Apple”.

This was a noisy, and a dirty place.

The entrance to the mid-town tunnel was at the corner of the building.

All the traffic sounds and exhaust fumes would come though this window.

One morning around 2 am I was awoken by the scariest noises I ever heard.

The circus was in town and the only way they could get all the animals to Madison Square Garden

was to walk them though the tunnel and up 34th Street.

I really loved living in New York City.
